Specialist in-water Cinematographer & Photographer
My journey into water photography and water videography began more than ten years ago in Maui. What started as a trip with friends armed with my windsurf kit, camera, and water housing quickly became something much bigger. Most days were spent at the iconic Ho’okipa Beach Park, swimming through waves, rips, and powerful currents to capture professional windsurfers from inside the break. It was there I developed my instinct for timing, positioning, and reading the ocean, skills that define my work today as a dedicated water camera operator.
Working across both video and photography to create powerful, immersive imagery from within the water itself. As an experienced water photographer, water videographer, and in-water cinematographer, I continue to refine and evolve my craft in one of the most technically demanding and rewarding areas of visual storytelling.
I’ve filmed and photographed in oceans, seas, rivers, mountain lakes, swimming pools, and even man-made inland surf destinations. From open water swells to controlled water environments, I understand how to work safely and creatively in constantly changing conditions, positioning myself exactly where the action unfolds.
Safety is fundamental to how I work. As a volunteer boat crew member with the RNLI, I regularly operate in challenging real-world rescue scenarios, developing strong risk assessment skills and calm decision-making under pressure. This, combined with years of open-water experience, ensure that every shoot is approached with professionalism, preparation, and a deep respect for the environment.
As an in-water cinematographer, I create dynamic, intimate perspectives that can only be achieved from within the environment itself.
